She is the past President of the Michigan Athletic Trainers Society and Hall of Fame member and was the leader in obtaining licensure for athletic trainers in the state of Michigan in 2006. Ann is currently the chair of the Michigan Board of Athletic Trainers.
Jan's twenty eight years of experience include working in many different areas including industrial, high school, and hospital/outpatient clinical settings. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist thru National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association. She currently serves as an Athletic Trainer Director on the Board of Certification.
Her clinical experience includes 15 years at the Cleveland Clinic where she worked in inpatient, outpatient and intensive care areas. She worked as a senior therapist specializing in patient care involving peripheral vascular diseases. She has worked at multiple outpatient sites in the Detroit area for twenty five years treating a variety of diagnoses including orthopedic, neurological, vestibular, joint replacements, amputees and spinal problems.
Mary is a 2006 graduate of Central Michigan University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, and a 2012 graduate of University of Michigan - Flint with a post-graduate Certificate in Geriatric Physical Therapy. She holds board certification as a Geriatric Clinical Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and is a Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adults, also through the APTA. Mary has clinical experience in a variety of rehabilitation settings including acute care, skilled nursing, home health care, and out-patient. She remains an active member of the APTA and the Michigan Physical Therapy Association through attendance at and participation in annual conferences. Outside of work, Mary enjoys bicycling, traveling, and being outdoors.
